New SOLAS guideline

On July 1, 2016 the SOLAS guideline (Safety of Life at Sea) entered into force, according to which export containers must not be loaded on the seagoing vessel without the verified gross mass (VGM). Since then, the shippers are obliged to determine the VGM and to transmit it to the ship owners in time. The PTS Logistics GmbH has faced this task successfully and determines the VGM in cooperation with our partners in the seaports for our customers (shippers). The VGM is transmitted to the customers (shippers) as well as to the respective shipping carriers. All container shipments carried out in the meantime were performed successfully and without further incidents.
